Frequently Asked Questions

Commercial chain link installations typically range from $18 to $45 per linear foot, depending on height, fabric gauge, coating type, and terrain conditions. A standard 6-foot galvanized chain link fence on flat ground averages $22 to $28 per linear foot installed. Higher security specifications, difficult soil conditions, and sloped terrain increase costs. We provide itemized per-foot pricing in every proposal.

Installation speed depends on project scale and terrain. A typical crew installs 200 to 400 linear feet per day on prepared ground. A 2,000-foot perimeter project usually takes 5 to 10 working days from mobilization. We can mobilize within 5 to 7 business days of signed contract, or within 48 hours for emergency situations.

358 mesh — named for its 3-inch by 0.5-inch by 8-gauge wire dimensions — is a welded wire panel designed to prevent climbing and cutting. The tight mesh pattern eliminates hand and foot holds, and the 8-gauge wire resists standard bolt cutters. It is the global standard for prisons, military bases, data centers, and critical infrastructure perimeters.

High-security fencing ranges from $65 to $180 per linear foot depending on the system type, height, extensions, and site conditions. A 358 mesh system at 8 feet with razor coil typically runs $85 to $120 per linear foot installed. Anti-ram rated systems are at the higher end. We provide detailed proposals with itemized pricing for every project.

For most commercial and industrial sites, a cantilever slide gate is the best choice. It requires no ground track (eliminating snow, ice, and debris issues), handles heavy vehicle traffic, and accommodates openings from 12 to 60 feet. Swing gates work well for lower-traffic access points where lateral clearance is not an issue.

A standard 24-foot cantilever slide gate with operator and safety devices typically costs $22,000 to $35,000 installed. Wider openings, heavier gate weights, and additional security features increase the investment. Barrier arms start around $8,000 to $15,000 installed. We provide a single installed price with no hidden line items.

Wildlife exclusion fencing is a specialized 8-foot or taller fence installed along highway corridors to prevent large animals — deer, elk, moose, and pronghorn — from entering the roadway. It is typically installed in combination with wildlife crossing structures (underpasses and overpasses) that provide safe passage for animals.

All thirteen states in our service territory have active wildlife fencing programs. Colorado (CDOT), Washington (WSDOT), Oregon (ODOT), Idaho (ITD), and Montana (MDT) have the most active programs currently, driven by FHWA funding and state wildlife action plans. Utah, New Mexico, Kansas, Wyoming, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, and Nebraska also fund wildlife fencing as part of corridor improvement projects.

Standard deliveries are scheduled within 24 to 48 hours of order confirmation. Emergency deployments — crash response, weather damage, emergency closures — are typically on site within 4 to 12 hours. We maintain pre-staged inventory at our Erie, Colorado headquarters and regional storage yards.

A standard construction site perimeter of 500 to 1,000 linear feet typically costs $800 to $2,500 per month including delivery, installation, and pickup. Pricing depends on panel type, screening, gate count, and project duration. Long-term projects over 6 months receive discounted monthly rates.

Ornamental iron (wrought iron and fabricated steel) offers heavier weight, traditional aesthetics, and unmatched solidity. It requires periodic maintenance — touch-up paint every 5 to 10 years depending on climate. Architectural aluminum replicates iron profiles at lower weight and cost, requires zero maintenance, and carries a lifetime structural warranty. Aluminum is ideal for coastal or high-moisture environments. Iron is preferred when the homeowner wants the weight and feel of traditional ironwork.

Luxury residential metal fencing typically ranges from $85 to $250 per linear foot installed, depending on material, profile complexity, height, and finish. Standard ornamental iron at 5 feet averages $100 to $150 per foot. Premium custom profiles with architectural details run $150 to $250 per foot. Aluminum systems are typically 20 to 30 percent less than comparable iron profiles.
